About the artist...
Inspired by nature...designed to endure it.
D.D. Watkins was raised in the Southern United States, and spent two years of her youth in the Philippine Islands...there is a subtle eastern influence still visible in much of her work to this day. At nineteen she moved to the West Coast, and has made California her home ever since.

In her early twenties D.D. started her own business in Los Angeles- a glass art studio specializing in large scale custom artwork for high end residential and commercial projects. For nearly twenty years she worked closely with the finest architects and designers in the business. She designed and created innovative artwork for hundreds of projects throughout the Continental U.S. and for various locations as far flung as Guam, Saudi Arabia, Canada, London, Hawaii and Japan.

D.D. is a long time Santa Barbara resident. She is a mother, an artist, entrepreneur, interior & architectural design consultant, and N.Y. Times best-selling author whose work has been published in twenty six languages to date. If you would like to know more about her books, please visit her author website: www.ddwatkins.com. D.D. is also the founder of Dream Big and the creator of Dream Big Vision Books- a complete system for personal vision and empowerment: www.dreambigcollection.com

Over the last few years, D.D. has developed the Elemental Art concept - researching, painting and exploring her uniquely durable styles and techniques.
I find inspiration in spirit, in nature and in the world around us. For me, inspiration is absolutely the juice of life. It is essential to my very being, and in my case it leads to creation- and the joy that the creative process brings. This energy; this sense of joy and inspiration is inherent in my artwork. It honors the beauty and mystery of our world, and it connects me in a way that lies beyond words or reason. Each painting has meaning, each one is an experience...and through my artwork, I hope to share the inspiration, the joy and the journey.
